We are seeking a dedicated Resource Nurse with the highest

The Resource Nurse is focused on providing engaging and innovative
training that drives and maintains Northern Illinois Hospice
clinical team 5-Star quality, patient safety, and regulatory
compliance. The Resource Nurse is the organization's lead clinical
trainer. Passionate about professional development in the specialty
field of hospice and palliative care. The Resource Nurse will work
under the direction of the Director of Clinical Services and will
provide coaching and training in the field and office in various
settings and with the entire multi-disciplinary hospice team. The
Resource Nurse will promote a model of continuous learning through
various modalities; will assist in the certification process and
will closely adhere to industry standards of best practice. An
ability to comfortably facilitate and support learning
opportunities within the organization and throughout the healthcare
community, including assisting with the development of course
content is a must. Requirements: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works closely with Director of Clinical Services, Director of
Quality and Compliance, and other clinical leadership to identify
and implement training for staff and volunteers.
- Promotes and applies Northern Illinois Hospice's Standards,
Mission, Vision, and Core Values to work practices.
- Facilitates orientation of new clinical staff to work setting
in area of specialty on topics such as Northern Illinois Hospice
clinical policies, procedures, and Joint Commission standards;
documentation practices; use of technology; and compliance
requirements and regulatory guidelines.
- Following Joint Commission and professional standards, mentors
and coaches new clinicians to ensure they have the skills and
knowledge necessary to perform competently in their roles,
including conducting patient home visits and periodic check ins,
and collaborating with immediate supervisors on development
needs.
- Adheres to infection control practices when performing job
duties in alliance with CDC and OSHA regulations.
- Maintains current knowledge of federal, state, local and agency
regulatory guidelines and agency policies, and ensures
adherence.
- Advocates for privacy, confidentiality and security of patient,
staff, and organizational data.
- Maintains the documentation and record keeping system in
compliance with educational, organizational and external agency
requirements.QUALIFICATIONS:
- BSN required.
- Current IL nursing license.
- Minimum three (3) years current experience in hospice
nursing.
- Certified in Hospice and Palliative Nursing (CHPN) preferred.
Mandatory certification within 12 months of hire.
- Accreditation experience, preferably in a hospice
environment.
- Supervisory and administrative experience preferred.
- Training experience in a professional environment
required.
- Knowledge of guidelines governing hospice Medicare
participation and care
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Valid drivers' license.
- Current auto insurance and access to a reliable automobile.
Northern Illinois Hospice supports our employees' wellbeing and

base salary range for this role nationally is $78,000 - $112,000.
However, final base pay will be carefully determined based on
several factors, including education, experience, knowledge,
skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment
with market data.
